About Me

Hi There, I’m Makenna.

I’m an educator and professional problem solver.  I work (and have worked) in many spaces, but ultimately my goal is to solve the world’s biggest problems by empowering passionate people to ‘get shit done’

I come from an academic background of thinking through philosophical thought processes, economic theories for change, challenging cosmopolitan world views, feminist theory, private sector solutions to typically non-profit issues, and as such I have an uncanny ability to write a paper on the theoretical underpinings of nearly anything in thirty minutes flat.

Professionally speaking; I’m a passionate thought changer, a no-nonsense yet supportive managerial type, a storyteller in words and pictures, a professor who teaches social innovation, and currently spend much of my day working on solving the big bad problems of poverty by empowering local community leaders in Kenya.

Boiling it down:  I like to solve problems.
Big problems.  Small Problems.
Management. Community building.
Water poverty. Social media.  Adaptive water skiing.  You name it.

I live, breathe, and love in Macon, Ga.
